The Victor Walk

On May 14, 2013 Theo Fleury (former NHL player) began a walk to raise awareness for sexual abuse towards children. He calls it the “Victor Walk.” Theo Fleury himself was sexually abused by his own hockey coach in the 1980s. He also feels that the laws against pedophiles aren’t strict enough. Theo and individuals supporting his cause are requesting the federal government has more serious sentencing against pedophiles and want a minimum of 15 years served in prison for every sexual abuse account the offender makes.
This ten-day walk began in Toronto and ended in Ottawa, covering approximately 450km. More and more frequently people are becoming aware that sexual abuse towards children is a serious issue, and bigger than we may have realized. It is excellent that awareness is being raised to crack down on local laws. However that doesn’t overly help children in other countries when our pedophiles are leaving the country afterwards. Theo Fleury shows that it only takes one person to begin a movement.

Many people share the same vision as myself, a place where childrens' rights are respected and their innocence isn't taken from them. Sign the petition to help prevent Canadian pedophiles from leaving the country for intimate relations with young children. Every signature brings us one step closer to getting the government to give this issue the attention it needs!
